About

In celebration of World Cleanup Day 2025, the Captain Fanplastic team hosted a coastal clean-up event at Mouille Point, Cape Town. The initiative brought together 60 enthusiastic young participants, f ondly known as our plastic pirates, along with key ocean conservation partners — CapeNature, Shark Spotters, and the Two Oceans Aquarium.

The day began with an engaging storytelling session and ocean literacy activities, aimed at deepening the learners’ understanding of marine ecosystems and the impact of plastic pollution. This was followed by a beach clean-up, where participants actively collected litter along the shoreline, contributing to a cleaner and healthier marine environment.

Captain Fanplastic extends sincere appreciation to our partners, Create Change South Africa and the DG Murray Trust, for their continued support in empowering young environmental stewards.

We remain committed to inspiring communities to take action in protecting and preserving our planet- one clean-up at a time
