Captain Fanplastic is a primary school programme that strives to contribute to the UN’s SDG Goal 14: “Reduce pollution in our oceans”. We raise awareness on the impact of plastic and the value it holds. The programme uses graphic storytelling, creativity and gamification to educate kids about plastic.
The learning objective is to create a mindset that plastic waste is #NoTrashButTreasure, meaning don’t throw plastic away, instead reuse, reduce or recycle it.

Through the Captain Fanplastic programme we learnt about animals that are sick because of eating plastic.
We became pirates and we saved animals from eating plastic.
The gamification of the whole thing was really fun, I love the program because it speaks to what we are already doing in class, its easy to integrate.

We loved the story and enjoyed making the eye patch. Picking up the plastic is fun!
Today was fun!
The reason for all of this was to not pollute the earth.
We first have to create awareness to stop the littering from happening, this programme helps with that.
